How do I paint my countertops white?

- Clean the countertop with warm soap and water and dry it with a soft cloth.
- Lightly sand the counter with 150-grit sandpaper and wipe off any dust with a damp cloth.
- Prime the entire surface with 100 percent acrylic primer.
- Let the first coat of primer dry and then apply a second.
How do you redo Giani countertops?
Here’s how to go about it:
- Lightly sand the countertop.
- Wipe the countertop down with a damp rag to remove any dust.
- Apply a new coat of the Giani black primer to the counter.
- Apply the Giani faux granite finish.
- When you’re satisfied with the look, apply the clear poly topcoat.
Do you have to wait 8 hours for Giani primer?
Apply the Giani primer first and let it dry for the standard 8 hours. Let them dry for 12 hours and then apply the Giani topcoat. Failure to wait the full 12 hours of drying time before top-coating, when using the water-based acrylics, will result in voiding the warranty.
When can I use my Giani countertop?
- Wait 48 hours after applying the topcoat before using your countertops. After 2 days, you may use your countertops as you normally would.
- The full cure time for Giani Marble is 7 days. While you can clean gently during this time, we do not recommend cleaning aggressively until after the 7 day cure time.
