Why the edTPA is bad?
What makes the edTPA totally offensive is that instructors are severely limited by illogical guidelines. For example, certain types of support for their students are deemed unacceptable such as leading comments about their observations in order to help their students pass edTPA.
What happens if I do not pass the edTPA?
If they do not pass, candidates should consult with a designated program faculty member to determine whether to retake the entire edTPA or retake one, two or three1 edTPA tasks to meet the state requirement.
What does a language function in edTPA mean?

What are the sub prompts in EdTPA for elementary?
There are specific sub-prompts that remind you to cover: your learning objective, the related common core state standard, strategies and learning tasks you used, representations and other materials used, and assessments used. Do I need to teach the 3-5 lesson learning segment?
When do you write your planning commentary for edTPA?
There is no way for the scorers to know when you wrote your planning commentary, but it is of course good practice (and our program’s expectation) that you always plan before you teach! Are we choosing one language function to assess and analyze throughout all three lessons or different language functions for each lesson? One language function.
